Woodland Burial Ground
The woodland burial ground at Hundy Mundy occupies a hill-top just south of Mellerstain, one of the Borders' finest Georgian country houses. Here there are commanding views of the surrounding landscape, yet it is tranquil and private and offers a place of escape, away from it all. The peace and beauty of the countryside is special, whatever the season. Somewhere to connect with nature, sense the elements and feel replenished. It allows you time and space to focus your mind, a place to reflect on life, love and loss. Our aim is to provide peaceful resting places in beautiful countryside, quite unlike other cemeteries. Grasses will be allowed to grow tall so that wildflowers and wildlife can flourish. It's a place for people to escape the modern world and relax in natural surroundings. The burial ground offers time and space to do things your way. Whether arriving on horseback, bringing the dogs, erecting a marquee or keeping things very simple, you have the scope and freedom to do as you wish. People say there's an odd sense of inner-peace knowing that one day they too will be there - somewhere they know, somewhere they feel happy. Contact Us
